Notes Home – Tuesday, March 3, 2020

Night School is this Thursday, March 5th – Night School is the opportunity for you to see what your child does each day at school.  Your child (with the guidance of the teacher) will have selected a sample of the works they want to demonstrate for you the evening of Night School.  Sign-up sheets are posted in the dining room.  If you need us to sign you up, email back and we’ll sign you up.

  • There will be two sessions: 5:00 – 5:45 or 6:00 – 6:45.
  • Reservations are required –sign-up sheets are posted in the dining room.
  • Montessori siblings should be signed up for the same session.
  • Up to two adults per family.
  • Space is extremely limited so we cannot include siblings, friends, grandparents, etc.

Spring Clean Up will be Saturday, March 14th from 8:00 to 11:00. If you can help out for an hour or the whole time, the sign-up sheet is on the PTO table in the dining room.  Or, email back and we’ll get you signed up!  If you have any rakes, brooms, leaf blowers, small trowels, trimmers, gloves, etc. bring them along.  We’ll be pressure washing the greenhouse floor, sweeping rocks, pulling weeds, blowing/bagging leaves, cleaning the rocks from the playground drain, etc.  Something for everyone!!

Music for the School Play (Baby Want Out!)– In the past we have recorded the music onto CD’s so you could help your child learn their song and the $10 helped underwrite the cost of the play.

This year you will have the option to buy a CD (at the front desk) for as long as they last or download the music directly from Google Play, Apple Music and many other online music services.

School PlayThe whole school participates in the school play that will be performed at The Victory Theatre on the evening of Friday, April 17.  A full dress rehearsal will be at The Victory Theatre on Thursday, April 16.  Parents will pick children up at 6:00 PM from The Victory on dress rehearsal Day.

If your child will not be here in town the evening of the play, please tell us now.  Each class is assigning children a place in the dance line.  The children depend on the people next to them to be there the night of the show.  We also need to know for costumes

School Play Costumes – You do not have to do anything.  Your child will be fitted for their costume in the coming weeks.

Spring Break will be the week of March 23.  We will not have school, but if you have AM or PM care in your child’s program, they may attend their regular hours.  We’ll be sending home a spring break survey next week, so we can be preparing for activities and staffing.

The Flu – We have had lots of children with a diagnosis of Flu B. If your child is complaining of a sore throat, headache, seem lethargic or just not feeling well, please have them checked out before coming to school.  Some children who have been fever free for 24 hours without a fever reducer have had recurrence upon returning to school.
