Plastic Grocery Bags – If you have any extra at your house, our supply needs to be refilled.  Bring them to the front desk at your convenience!

EZ Lunch App – Now is the time to sign-up for November’s lunch (November’s lunches start this Friday).  Remember to click on the “November” tab.

This Week –Day of the Dead Celebration this Saturday, November 2nd at Central Park in downtown Henderson from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.

Volunteers please sign-up now, if there is any time you can help this Saturday afternoon.  We still need about 25 volunteers to make this community/culture event successful.

Times available are: 3:15 – 5:00, 4:45 to 6:30 and tear down from 7:00 – 8:00.

We’ve included a link to sign-up where we’ll need help on Saturday, November 2nd.

Come celebrate with us:  Mexican dancers, craft activities for children (sugar skull decorating, face painting, tin crafting, tortilla making, flower tissue and papel picado making, etc.) and ends with a parade!

Background:  Montessori is joining efforts with the city of Henderson to host this community (free) cultural event.  The Mexican holiday Day of the Dead is a celebration of loved ones who have passed.

School Pictures:

Please return order forms on or before your child’s picture day.

Tuesday, October 29 – Ms. April and Ms. Lori’s classes

Wednesday, October 30 – Mrs. Corn and Mrs. Theriac’s classes

Thursday, October 31 – Ms. Sarah and Mr. R’s classes

We are sad to pass on the news that Ms. Audrey’s last day will be this Friday, November 1st.  While we search for a permanent person Ms. Melissa will be helping us out in the office in the mornings.

Early pickups – If you have a child who needs to be picked up between 2:00 and 3:15, we ask that you be prepared to wait while we get them from their class.  We now often have 6-10 children being picked up early and because there is typically only one person in the office at that time, should we have to leave the office, we need to take the children with us and that’s disruptive walking through the school and confusing for the youngest children.  Thank you for you cooperation and patience.

Next Week –

Field Trip  (excluding Mr. R’s class) is next Tuesday, November 5th.  Children need to be in the building between 8:00 and 8:10.  They should wear their Montessori shirts.

Mr. R’s Parent/Teacher Conferences will be Friday, November 8th.  The conference sign-up sheet will be posted on the classroom door this coming Friday morning.

Meet & Greet will be Friday, November 8th 8:30 – 9:30 in the East Room.  Drop your child(ren) off and stop in for a few minutes or the whole hour!

Families without AM care should arrive between 8:25 and 8:30.  Part of the children’s day is lining up with the class and coming into the building together.

Take your child to the playground for drop off, weather permitting.

  • Please do not wait in the classroom/hallway to drop your child off.

Remember to mark the Lunch App – Now that we are in the 5th week of school, we will not be contacting parents when a child is supposed to be a hot luncher.  Once we realize they are not absent, it will default to a cheese sandwich with the regular side items.  You can mark lunches a month at a time and the next month is available from the 15th of the current month.

Lunchbox families please remember to mark “lunchbox” in the app.  Anytime a child is not marked, it takes 30-45 minutes to figure out the child is not absent, and here with a lunchbox, and make the changes to the printout from the App for the classroom, kitchen and office copy.
